Patient Update: COVID-19

In this critical time, Florida Otolaryngology Group is closely following the COVID-19 pandemic and adjusting our care daily to keep our patients safe while attending to their medical needs. Here is some vital information that you should know as we deal with this crisis moving forward.

Orange County Executive Order 2020-04 regarding COVID-19, specifically and officially states in Section 2. (b)(1) Healthcare providers, including doctors’ offices, are deemed “essential” and may remain open. As such, our offices will continue operation to serve our community best and will be available to accommodate your non-COVID-19 related medical needs. Additionally, for our established patients who are age 65 and over, immunocompromised or uncomfortable with coming to our clinic, we will be offering Telemedicine services as a means of continuing your care. Our practice is diligently screening all patients and anyone self-identifying or presenting with acute symptoms that may be related to COVID19 and are being referred to the appropriate authorities without direct contact with our staff. If you feel you have symptoms associated with COVID-19, please call 1(866)779-6121, go to https://floridahealthcovid19.gov, or call 911 if you think your symptoms are emergent and you need immediate medical care.

As additional safety measures and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities, we are instituting the following restrictions and screenings that all patients and guests must meet before entering our office:

  • Pre-entry screenings will occur for every patient and guest to our facility, and a maximum of 10 patients will be allowed in our waiting rooms at all times.
  • No patients with a temperature above 100.4 F will be seen unless permitted by a physician.

  • No patients will be seen with acute cough, difficulty breathing, or sudden loss of smell or taste within 14 days of onset.

  • One visitor will be allowed to accompany each patient.

While the possibility of COVID-19 contraction in any public or private facility always exists, Florida Otolaryngology Group is using an abundance of caution as we continue to provide your necessary medical care. Our physicians and staff are utilizing gloves, masks, and eye protection as a means of protecting themselves, you and your guest.
