Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP)

This test is used to evaluate a specific portion of the vestibular system called the Saccule and the inferior vestibular nerve. During VEMP testing, headphones are placed over the ears and small electrodes are attached to the skin over the neck muscles and on the forehead. The head is raised, unsupported, which tenses the neck muscles, while a clicking sound is heard through the earphones. The test only takes a few minutes to perform and causes little to no discomfort.

Performing ultrasound around the patient's neck.
